¿Qué son las terapias ocupacionales?

Are your students or kids participating in remote learning in the fall? These wonderful pictures from AL-inclusive Therapy Services demonstrate proper setup to... help support your students’ posture. Having a good base of support also supports fine motor skills! Think about trying to write nearly while sitting on a chair that wobbles or while sitting in a large chair with only your tiptoes touching the ground. This is difficult to do and is similar to how it feels for children working on fine motor skills when their posture is not supported! Children should switch positions frequently throughout the day. They shouldn’t stay in one position. If your child feels uncomfortable, fatigued, or upset in any position, do not do have your child sit this way ! Some of the seating positions are meant to just provide a different way to sit to help with posture, strength, proprioceptive input & a little stretch! Talk to your doctor, OT or PT if you have questions about your child and how they are sitting!
